Briella Smaw

Clinical Research Coordinator

Briella is a Latin Honors graduate of St. John’s University with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During her time at St. John’s, she earned the Academic Achievement Award of Scholastic Excellence in Biology and was nominated for the Golden Key Award for Biology. Briella gained valuable research experience in an Organic Chemistry lab, where she studied the role of the second messenger molecule, Cyclic ADP-ribose, in muscle contraction mechanisms. At the Elahi Lab, she works as a clinical research coordinator for the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative research that will study plasma biomarkers of AD and dementia in clinic. She also explores her interest in neuropathology. Briella’s outside hobbies include baking, gardening, and reading.
