Jennie Chen, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

Zhangying (Jennie) earned her BS degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her PhD at Northwestern University, where her dissertation focused on age-associated CD8+ T cell infiltration in traumatic brain injury. Driven by a curiosity to uncover the underlying mechanisms of biological processes, she enjoys designing innovative yet rigorous experiments using multilevel approaches. At the Elahi Lab, she is dedicated to exploring the role of adaptive immunity in CADASIL. She seeks to uncover the basic principles that govern neuroimmune interactions and their effects on brain health and disease progression. Outside of her research, she enjoys bouldering and cooking.
